Internet Explorer 8 Updates/Add-On

Believe it or not but there are some old school die hard fans who still use Internet Explorer for all their browsing needs/wants. For those old school die hard fans who have updated your Internet Explorer to the latest version and get the following error box:

There is hope to resolve this and your friendly neighborhood IT Deptartment has found a solution in a very unlikely place. The source for the solution was found at, brace yourself I know that the next line after this comma is a oxymoron but hang with me, the Microsoft Help and Support web site. According to the site this is caused by an incompatibility problem between Internet Explorer 8 and any type of Roxio CD burning software. Very easy fix. Close out of all programs and do the following:

  1. 1. Open up the Internet Explorer browser the way you normally do

  2. 2. You should get a box that looks like this:

  3. 3. Check the second option the one that says "Always open Internet Explorer without this add-on."

  4. 4. Click the "Ok" button

  5. 5. Internet Explorer should open up and if it does close out of it then reopen to ensure that the issue has been fixed and you may continue on browsing the net.

  6. 6. If after you click the "Ok" button Internet Explorer doesn't open then all you have to do is open it back up and you are on your way to browsing.
